Album: Staphylococcus aureus treated with PlySs2 lysin
Thin section electron micrographs of Staphylococcus aureus treated with PlySs2 lysin. Staphylococci range from untreated (1 and 2) to those treated for 15 seconds (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) at different magnifications, to those treated for 3 minutes (9, 10) 15 minutes (11) and 30 minutes (12). In all treated samples, destruction of the cell wall is evident.
